Oregon Veterans' Home - Lebanon The Edward C. Allworth Oregon Veterans' Home - The place where honor lives. Contact information: http://www.lebanon.oregonveteranshomes.com/contact/

Allworth Veterans’ Home is already changing the perception of Veterans' Homes across the nation. Organized around the idea of an intentional community or neighborhood, this new veterans' home will offer residents a way to maximize normal living environments and routines, provides autonomy, a sense of community, and quality of life. The communities consist of three houses per neighborhood and each

house will accommodate up to 14 residents. The houses are accessible and adaptive, designed for ease of movement and features open kitchens, dining areas where family style meals are served, a living room with a fire place, private bedrooms and baths. The Campus will provide space for 154 individuals who require long-term skilled nursing care as well as rehabilitation services in a true home-like setting with routine activities and social interaction that decreases social isolation. The Home sits on 12 acres adjacent to the Samaritan Health Sciences Campus in Lebanon.

Let me tell you something... our Delta Memory Care Recreation Assistants, CNAs and nurses are some of the very best! They have been doing some pretty fun things lately including this super fun Cowboy Dress Up themed BBQ! Veteran Residents had a grand Old West time with good food, fun cowboy get ups, and lots of photo ops! We are looking forward to the next themed day!

Did you know that it was recently National Nursing Home Week?? A whole week that we can celebrate what we do and the wonderful people who dedicate their lives to taking care of others! On this fun week, we had Good Grounds coffee cart provide drinks and snacks to our staff and Veteran Residents, dress up days (including twin day, glitz and glam, crazy hat day, western day, and tropical day!), Minute To Win It games, a giant raffle ticket hunt with prizes, donut days, and a delicious catered lunch for our staff! Thank you to all of the Nursing Home staff for all that you do!

Good morning from the Oregon Veterans' Home in Lebanon! We hope that you all had a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend and had time to give thanks for all of our service men and women. We spent our time in true American style with BBQ'd hamburgers, marinated chicken, and all the fixings and sides provided by our amazing dietary staff! The 80's band, The Metro, provided some rockin' tunes we couldn't help but dance to while a slide show of the beloved Veteran Residents we have lost in the past year played. Thank you to our 4 dedicated volunteers, Jeff, Randy, Ed, and Becky, for spending the day cooking up over 100 hamburgers and too many chicken thighs to count for our Veteran Residents.

It's been a minute since we had some puppy cuddles, so our Volunteer Ann brought in her latest litter recently to share with us. These fuzzy faces were definitely the highlight of the day! Thank you Ann!

If you ever wonder how we pull off events like the Spring Fling, it's often because we find amazing people and groups to support us and what we do at the Oregon Veterans' Home of Lebanon. Take Dennis Emerson and Matt Helget for example... Dennis is a family member of one of our beloved Veteran Residents and Matt has been volunteering with and supporting OVHL since the very beginning. It was divine to have them both back with us, supporting the Spring Fling through Adair Living History this year! Thank you to them both and the support they brought from Adair Living History to provide us with our theme for 2026; Military History.

A glorious time was had by all at the Annual Spring Fling a few Saturdays ago! We had the biggest turn out for our Classic Car Cruise In- thank you to all of the clubs and beautiful car owners who honored our Veteran Residents and their families by attending! Our vendors were wonderful, the food trucks were delicious, and it was one of the BEST Spring Fling events we have every had. Looking forward to next year already-- Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 24th, 2027!!!

FISH ON!!! Spring has definitely sprung and with that comes the sun, which mean more outdoor activities for our Veteran Residents! This morning, Bravo neighborhood enjoyed some trout fishing at a local pond. As always, we could not make these trips happen without our Vietnam Veterans of America volunteers who assist in prep, bring the poles and bait, and aftercare when our Vets want to take some fish home to eat! Thank you VVA for all that you do for our Veteran Residents!
