Lebanon Optimist Club

Lebanon Optimist Club The Lebanon Optimist Club was chartered in July 1994. Optimist Clubs conduct positive service projects aimed at providing a helping hand to youth.

Our members come from every walk of life with the common goal of improving the lives of the youth in our community. By believing in young people and empowering them to be the best they can be, Optimist volunteers continually make their community a better place to live. There are 105,000 individual members who belong to more than 3,200 autonomous clubs. Optimists conduct 65,000 service projects eac

h year, serving six million young people. Optimists also invest $78 million annually in improving their communities. The Optimist Creed

Promise Yourself-

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the
best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your
own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of
the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you
meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to
criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too
happy to permit the presence of trouble.

If you subscribe to our Lebanon Avenue of Flags program, you helped make this happen. Avenue of Flags not only gives youth organizations opportunities to earn money for their programs by adopting a flag route, but the portion our Lebanon Optimist Club retains funds four scholarships for Lebanon High School students who are pursuing further education. This year we were able to offer a renewable award. These recipients can reapply for an additional $1000 for their 2nd year of college. We thank all who support this program.

Lebanon Optimist Club member and Avenue of Flags Coordinator, Scott Webb, tonight awarded $2000 to each of these LHS seniors. Congratulations!

THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE
A WORLD PREMIERE
By DEONDRA KAMAU MEANS

Don’t miss this Off The Hill production!
Saturday, March 14th at 7:00
This show is free to the public. However, you must reserve your seats in advance at ltcplays.com.

A fresh adaptation of the one of the world’s best-known fables! Does slow and steady really win the race? Hare believes that speed is the way to win, while Tortoise believes that consistency is the key. Even though they have been pitted against each other for centuries, Tortoise and Hare will find that the only way to win the race is to work together, using their individual character strengths and teamwork to overcome the
obstacles and challenges in their way. This new play with music puts a contemporary spin on a heartwarming and gripping tale for audiences of all ages.
