Congratulations to Ms. Abby Jackson on her recognition through Project Excellence! 🎉

Ms. Jackson is a 6th grade math teacher at Columbia Intermediate and has spent all 7 years of her teaching career serving students in the Kings Local School District.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in Math and English Language Arts, along with a reading endorsement, from Wilmington College. She also holds a Master’s in Transformative Education from Miami University. Before becoming an educator, Abby attended the Aveda Institute and worked as a hairstylist.

When asked what she is most proud of, Abby shared that watching her son grow into the person he is becoming after overcoming difficult times fills her heart with joy and gratitude.

Congratulations to Steve France, recipient of the American Financial Corporation Award through Project Excellence!

Steve is a 7th grade mathematics teacher at Kings Junior High School with 34 years in education, including 27 years in the Kings Local School District.

A graduate of Wilmington College and Xavier University, Steve has now received this honor for the third time, previously earning the award in 2003 and 2014.

When asked what this recognition means to him, Steve shared:
“To be honest, winning this Project Excellence Award for a third time is so validating, for the work it takes every day to be an effective teacher.”

At last night's Board of Education meeting, the Board honored our district's two Project Excellence Award recipients, Madilynn Grace and Ned Earley.

Mrs. Grace is a dedicated and compassionate educator who exemplifies excellence by fostering a fun, attentive learning environment and maintaining strong, responsive communication with both students and parents.

Mr. Earley is a committed and innovative educator who serves as a genuine advocate for student success by providing extensive mentorship beyond school hours and acting as a positive role model for his peers.
