🐕🦺 WE NEED SOME HELP FAMILY 🐕🦺
About a year ago, a veteran was referred to Battle Borne by the VA, and we’ve been working with him ever since. He has been able to utilize several of our services, including our food program and transportation program to help him get to medical appointments.
Because of his medical conditions, he has difficulty getting around and even struggles to get out of the house to do things as simple as going to the store. Living alone can be incredibly difficult, especially when you’re dealing with ongoing medical concerns and limited mobility.
He eventually got a dog for emotional support, but more importantly, for companionship. Having someone—or in this case, a four-legged friend—around can make a tremendous difference when you spend so much time alone.
The dog is a male Doberman Pinscher/German Shepherd mix. He was born in December and was adopted from the Lehigh Valley Humane Society in March. He is neutered, up to date on all of his shots, microchipped, and all of his paperwork is available.
He’s a big puppy, currently around 50 pounds, and he’s going to get bigger. He seems to get along well with other dogs, although he has not been taken to a dog park.
His current roommate has been doing her best to care for him, but she is also dealing with stage 4 cancer. It has become increasingly difficult for her to walk him, play with him, and give him the exercise and attention he needs.
This is where we need your help!!!
We are looking for the right person or family who may be able to give this dog the time, attention, exercise, companionship, and the love he needs.
This will not be a first-come, first-served situation. We will have a proper vetting process and an application for anyone interested. Our priority is making sure this dog goes to the right home.
