Martha Sawyer Community Library - Lebanon, Maine The Martha Sawyer Community Library opened on January 31st, 2011. MSCL is located within the Hanson School; separate entrance behind the school.

Meetings held at MSCL :

1st Mondays - Lebanon Historical Society 7-8

3rd Thursdays - Conservation Commission 6:30-7:30

Come see me tonight Wednesday May 20th or Thursday May 21st both days are 4-8.
The library will be closed Saturday May 23rd and Monday May 25th for the observation of Memorial Day.
It is the kick off for summer activities, but also remember that Memorial Day is about honoring the soldiers who gave their lives while serving their country.
Sometimes it does get muddled and people confuse Memorial Day for Veterans Day. Our veterans are due our thanks and gratitude; but Memorial Day is to remember those who passed during service.
It is a solemn and heartfelt observation of the men and women who have given their lives for our freedoms.

So sad to hear of the passing of Alan Bradley. He is the author of the Flavia de Luce series, which I have thoroughly enjoyed reading over the years. I decribe Flavia as a British Nancy Drew with a lot more sass. The series is wonderful and they have just filmed a movie
adaptation to be released this year. Thanks for the great stories Alan! God speed to your next adventure.

The library will be closing early on Thursday May 7th. The hours will be 4:00-5:45. I’ll be heading over to the high school for the budget meeting which starts at 6:30. Hope to see you at MSCL to pick up a book until 5:45 and then at the high school to share thoughts about the budget.

Please come see me tomorrow Wednesday May 6th 4:00-8:00 or Saturday May 9th 1:00-4:00. Or for a short visit on Thursday 😊

Today I’ll be at the Lebanon Public Meeting at Lebanon Elementary School at 11:00 to answer questions about my budget. The library’s budget referendum is at the end of the list. It’s possible that it might run into my regular Saturday hours which are 1:00-4:00 If I’m not there right at 1:00 know I’ll be along shortly.

MSCL was thrilled to learn that the Preble Lodge #143 has named the library as the beneficiary of their annual golf tournament fundraiser.
The tournament will take place on Saturday May 16th at 9:00am at the Salmon Falls Country Club in Hollis, Maine.
I’ve included pictures of the brochure below, but you can come by the library for a hard copy.
I would love your support for the library and a great day of golf is always a wonderful time to spend a day.

Closed Saturday for the Easter Weekend. May you all have a wonderful weekend gathering with friends and family, taking a peaceful walk out in nature (on Saturday; Sunday looks rainy) or come stock up on books today and spend the weekend snuggling in with a good book.
