Celebration all around yesterday! 🏆

Several members of our department competed in Wawa’s Hoagies for Heroes competition, and if our crew ever decides to hang up the duty belt, they might have a future as professional hoagie builders! They came out on top against our friends at the Lebanon Fire Department in a friendly hoagie-building competition for some great causes!

We’re excited to welcome Wawa to our community and truly appreciate their support of our first responders!

UPDATE (9:10 p.m.) - Hickory Ridge Road has reopened. The NTSB will be leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident and will provide additional details as they become available.

Our officers will remain on scene with the aircraft until the investigation is complete and the aircraft has been recovered.

Most importantly, we are extremely grateful that no one was injured.

We also want to thank the Lebanon Fire Department, Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, Wilson County Emergency Management Agency, Lebanon Municipal Airport staff, and our officers and dispatchers for their professionalism and coordinated response.

There is a large emergency response at Byars Dowdy Elementary School following a single-engine aircraft that crash-landed near the school’s playground.

No injuries have been reported at this time. Children were present on school grounds, but no children were on the playground or near the aircraft when it crash-landed.

Emergency crews are on scene and working to secure the area.

We will provide additional information as it becomes available.

5:15 p.m. update - Good news! Krystal has been safely located!

The Lebanon Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating 42-year-old Krystal Butcher. Krystal was last seen in the area of Lebanon Rd./Highway 109 N at 8:00pm on Friday, August 21.

She was wearing black pants and a black tank top. Krystal is approximately 160 pounds and 5 feet, 3 inches tall.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Krystal Butcher, please contact the Lebanon Police Department at 615-444-2323.

The 70-year-old is 5’6”, 149 lbs., with white hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen on Monday morning.

Margaret may be driving this 2013 silver Ford Edge with TN plate 477BQQB.

She has a medical condition that may impair her ability to return safely without assistance.

Every night as the fair starts winding down, LPD’s Uber Unit is just getting started!

We enjoy helping shuttle fairgoers back to their vehicles at the end of the night while getting a chance to connect with our community.
