25 Years Later — We Remember
Twenty-five years ago today, our nation experienced a tragedy that forever changed America.
Nearly 3,000 lives were lost on September 11, 2001. Among them were 343 members of the FDNY who answered the call and ran toward unimaginable danger while thousands of others were trying to escape.
Behind every number was a person—a family, a friend, a coworker, a crew member, and a life that mattered.
Twenty-five years later, a generation has grown up knowing September 11 only through photographs, videos, memorials, and the stories we share. That makes our responsibility to remember even greater.
We remember the innocent lives lost. We remember the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice. We remember those who survived and those who later became sick or died because they answered the call that day.
We also remember how our nation came together afterward—neighbors helping neighbors, communities supporting one another, and Americans putting their differences aside.
Today, Lebanon Fire-EMS asks our community to carry that spirit forward.
Take a moment to remember. Share the story of September 11 with the next generation. Check on a neighbor. Help someone in need. Thank those who serve. Choose kindness, compassion, and unity.
The greatest way we can honor those we lost is not only by remembering how they died, but by remembering how they lived, served, and sacrificed for others.
