o Approved $7.5 million for 823 homeowners and renters
o Assistance is still available to those who experienced disaster-related losses in the Chelan County Area

IT'S HERE! Opening Day for the Howard Hopkins Memorial Pool is TODAY!

Opening day at the Howard Hopkins Memorial Pool is Saturday, May 23! We are absolutely thrilled to welcome everyone back for another wonderful season of swimming and sunshine.

To help make opening day as smooth as possible, a few quick reminders:

🚗 Digital Parking Validation - We are piloting a new license plate-enforced parking validation system in the Freund lot.

• How it works: Scan the QR code on the signs out in the parking lot when you arrive, and then scan the second validation QR code sign at our front desk within 15 minutes.
• Where to park: Use the outer two rows only (reserved for pool users and staff). Do not park in the two middle rows, as this will result in a citation.

📅 Opening Weekend Schedule - Join us Saturday (5/23) through Monday (5/25) during these hours:
• 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Open Swim
• 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Lap Swim (all ages, all lanes)
• 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Open Swim

🚧 Front Street Improvements: What to Expect 🚧

Starting Tuesday, May 26, construction crews will be out on Front Street making some much-needed repairs. Work will take place weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Game Plan:
🗓️ May 26 – 29: Crews will focus on repairing stormwater catch basins and replacing the concrete "dance floor" by the gazebo.
🗓️ May 30 – 31 (Weekend): No construction! Front Street will be fully open for the weekend.
🗓️ June 1 – 3: Demolition and replacement of the crosswalk at 8th & Front Street, plus minor asphalt repairs.
🗓️ June 4 – 5: Seal coating Front Street (8th to 9th will be sealed on June 4).

Notes: Miscellaneous sidewalk repairs will also happen throughout the two weeks with minimal interruption to businesses and out-of-town guests. The project timeline and seal coating are weather-dependent.

⚠️ Crews will be working directly in the roadway. Please respect all traffic cones and barricades to keep both yourself and our workers safe!

Every day, they show up with skill, dedication, and heart — repairing water leaks, caring for our public green spaces, operating the complex systems that treat our water in and out, delivering creative solutions, and keeping this beautiful city humming behind the scenes (and often right on the scene).
