Our own Henry Leavenworth Elementary Mayor was honored by the City of Leavenworth, Kansas Government Mayor in a surprise at the City Commission meeting on May 12. City of Leavenworth Mayor Nancy Bauer presented Mayor of Biztown George Kenton with a letter and certificate of recognition. George was elected Mayor of Biztown as part of a school program to teach students about local economics and government.

Jamye has been such an incredible leader this year and continually goes above and beyond for our staff, students, and families. She never backs down from a challenge and is always willing to collaborate, problem solve, and support those around her.
Her reflective mindset, positive attitude, and dedication to always finding better ways to serve others make a huge impact at Henry each and every day! We are so lucky to have her on our team! 💙

After weeks of voting and playing along on boomwhackers, our students have officially crowned "Waterloo" the 2026 champion! 🇸🇪✨
