🚓 League City Police Department joins departments across the country during National Police Week as we remember those that have given the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Police Week focuses on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, May 15th, and is observed May 14th - 20th this year. Several events are being held in our nation's capital, some of which are being live-streamed. LCPD proudly serves our community of League City, Texas 💙

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

💲 IRS SCAMS - As you prepare to file your tax returns, be aware of scams. IRS imposter scams occur when someone contacts you pretending to work for the IRS. The imposter may contact you by phone, email, postal mail, or even a text message.

There are two common types of scams:

Tax collection - You receive a phone call or letter, claiming that you owe taxes. They will demand that you pay the amount immediately, usually with a prepaid debit card or wire transfer. They may even threaten to arrest you if you don’t pay.

Verification - You receive an email or text message that requires you to verify your personal information. The message often includes a hyperlink phrase that reads “click here.” Or, you may see a button that links you to a fraudulent form or website.

Good evening All,

Dori, Clint, Shari and I are currently in Margaritaville Resort at the Texas CPAAA convention and are enjoying ourselves and learning so much. Wish you could be here.

I am pleased to announce that we made $3000 working the parking at the League City Music Festival. It was a very, very, extremely hot two days but we did it. I want to thank all that came out to share in the fun.

We are quickly approaching August 11 which will be our Annual meeting. All Board positions are open for election this year. President, 2nd Vice President and Secretary will serve a 2 year term and 1st Vice President and Treasurer will serve a one year term. If you are interested in becoming a Board member please email either Dori or me for more information. All positions need to be filled. Please consider serving on the Board, you are needed.

We will be doing the quarterly PD breakfast in July. We are planning some social activities during the summer, so stay tuned for our next event.
