Starting Monday, May 18, you can request a ride from Lake County Transit for free within our service area via the app, online or over the phone. To get started, scan the QR code, download the app, create an account, and you’re ready to go! Select your pick up and drop off locations, when you want to get there (now or schedule ahead) and if you’re bringing any additional riders, wheelchairs, or bikes with you.

🚨Lake County Update

Lake County is monitoring forecasted high winds, low humidity, and very dry conditions beginning Wednesday, April 22.

Like much of western Colorado, we are currently experiencing extreme to exceptional drought, increasing wildfire risk.

While no outages are confirmed, both planned and unplanned power outages are possible during these conditions. Outages may last longer than a brief interruption depending on weather and restoration needs.

Xcel Energy is evaluating a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS), a precautionary measure to reduce wildfire risk. In addition, power lines may automatically shut off if hazards like wind-blown debris or vegetation contact are detected.

This is a good reminder to keep basic preparedness in mind, including water, food that does not require electricity, and a plan for short-term outages.

El Condado de Lake está monitoreando condiciones de vientos fuertes, baja humedad y sequedad a partir del miércoles 22 de abril.

The Lake County DHS internet is down with no known fix. However we are still open for walk-ins and the phones are working. The state is aware of the outage and are looking into the issue. Thank you for your patience.

The Lake County Department of Human Services will be closed on Tuesday, March 31st for Dolores Huerta Day. We will be back in the office on Wednesday, April 1st. We apologize for any inconvenience.
