Everyone should watch the Belle Fourche council meeting from 07-06-26. It’s impressive to see the citizens of a community all stand up and tell their city to live within their means and prioritize infrastructure.

So I’m curious how Robin Lucero’s $150,000 concert went at the Mile High Field City of Lead? Did it make the city a bunch of money? Or any? It sure didn’t look like much more than 70 people showed up… That is rhetorical, of course.
According to sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity, it was a total flop. But I’m sure it will try to be spun in some positive light to gaslight the fact that it cost the city and the taxpayers $150,000, plus the damage to the school track and field.
So, Instead of taking all her time planning this last year, she could have been writing grants for the infrastructure of the city. Instead, now there is more damage than before, and we are $150k in the red for one night.
I’m also curious who did all of the merchandise for this event? Was this put out for a bid or was this job, for a city government, just given to somebody on a no bid contract? The questions just keep writing themselves on this event.

By the way… was it worth the damage to the $250,000 track and to the field?

One 18 wheeler with a concert stage set-up weighs approximately between 70,000-80,000 pounds. Depending on how much extra gear the production company brings. That was 40 tons that rolled over the track, at least twice.
Needless to say, there is noticeable damage where the track was crushed by the 18 wheeler, and I have a feeling it will be the first section to degrade and fail.
I’m not a structural engineer by any means, so if anyone is familiar in that field, I would love your input on that.

So we are curious if anyone else has noticed the speed limit changes on Julius St., and the road by the old grocery store behind the high school? These used to be 20mph.
And as far as I can tell from watching city council meetings, this change was not approved. Or am I mistaken CiCity of Lead
So if they weren’t approved by the city council, who approved this change and why?

Apparently, the Chief of Police (Lead Police Department) here in Lead has not heard of the 1st Amendment and the right to free speech and press. He wants to try and label a new page with fewer than 10 posts as a “hate group” because we are calling for accountability and transparency of his department and of the City employees. He also makes claims of “distorting the facts” and “propaganda”
This is a dishonorable police tactic to try and discredit and smear any citizen who speaks against them. They will even try and smear an honorably discharged, 100% disabled veteran with years of service to our Nation, to avoid accountability. Seems like the propaganda that you’re so worried about Chief, comes straight from your mouth. By the way, I’m not sure you used the word “facts” enough at the end of that comment.

Here’s a tip for you Chief… read the constitution, and specifically, the Bill of Rights, refer yourself to the 1st Amendment, and quit trying to be a fascist. Citizens who have receipts and are tired of a police force not doing anything and expecting praise, are not a hate group. We just want to be sure that you are doing the job that this “broke” city is paying you for.
I’m sorry if this hasn’t happened to you before and you don’t like being called out on your BS. But what’s that old adage you LEO’s like to use… FAFO?

We’d like to announce that Lead has a new SGT on the police force since Dec of 2025. SGT Erickson of the Mountain View neighborhood! She got promoted after flat-out lying to her fellow city officers (and the Chief), in order to avoid a citation, for sicking her non-friendly dogs on residents walking by her house on the public street, then blaming her brother and doing everything she could to avoid accountability.

According to our chief, she finally received a citation after a military veteran with an honorable discharge called out her BS, and they couldn’t ignore it anymore.

We are proud as a city to have this professional, with no integrity, as a leader in our police department. We couldn’t have asked for a more honest and trustworthy officer to fill this position.

We would just like to remind everyone that the City does as minimal maintenance as possible on our roads, sidewalks, and retaining walls that are not easily visible to tourists passing through.

We believe our money should be spent on fireworks and other frivolous events in a hopeless effort to bring people to the City to spend money at the 3 businesses we have in town.
