The Le Sueur Planning Commission invites residents to take part in the 2026 Future of the City Survey, open now through October 2nd.

This feedback is an important part of the ongoing review of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan, which helps guide the future of Le Sueur — including land use and development, housing, parks and open spaces, transportation, infrastructure, and other elements that shape our community.

Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts to help better understand what residents value, what they would like to see in the future, and what should remain a priority as Le Sueur continues to grow and evolve.

Clean out those basements and garages, Le Sueur - Fall Clean Up Day is this Saturday! 📍Le Sueur Compost Site (off Boright St.).

Most items can be disposed of for free. Please visit https://www.cityoflesueur.com/201/Refuse for appliance and electronics disposal fees.

To help ensure that all households have an opportunity to use the service, there will be a limit of one (1) load per address allowed. Staff will have an address list onsite and will check-in vehicles upon arrival.

This service is provided by Waste Management as part of the City's refuse contract and offered in spring and fall for City refuse customers only. Waste Management will stop collecting at 12:00pm (regardless of place in line) and we encourage residents to please plan accordingly. Although many of you are seasoned pros, we want to remind everyone to expect a wait time.

Please note: the City compost site will be closed starting Friday, Sept. 18th @ noon through Saturday, Sept. 19th @ noon for the clean-up event.

Today, our Le Sueur community joins communities across the country in remembering the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
Twenty five years have passed, but we have not forgotten the 2,977 lives lost that day, including 343 firefighters and 72 law enforcement officers who ran toward danger while others were trying to escape it.
In a small community like ours, our first responders are more than the uniform they wear. They are our neighbors, friends, coaches, parents, and familiar faces we see around town. September 11 is a reminder of what it means to answer the call to serve and of the courage and sacrifice that service can require.
Today, we remember those who never made it home. We remember the families whose lives were forever changed. And we remember how, in the days that followed, people came together to help their neighbors and support one another.
Twenty-five years later, may we continue to carry that spirit of service, kindness, and community with us here at home.

Last week, our Public Services staff participated in snowplow simulator training with MnDOT. Le Sueur was a host site and our operators were joined by several drivers from other municipalities as well.
This simulator is complete with movement, sound, visual complexities (such as snow sticking to the windshield), drivers honking at other drivers, and even cars pulling out in front of snowplows.
The simulator experience underscored the high level of stimulus with every mile and calculation needed each snow clearing event. Thank you to our snowplow drivers!

Final Paving (2025 Street & Utility Improvements Project):

Contractors will be onsite the week of September 7 placing and grading topsoil in preparation for seeding areas of sparse growth and correction of areas that have settled. Seeding is planned to take place later in the week. Crews will be working on North 4th Street from Bridge Street to Dakota Street and on Cathcart Street from Commerce Street to North 4th Street. This is expected to last throughout the week.

Please avoid parking on the above-referenced roadways September 8-11.

Roadways will remain open while work is occurring.

Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and drive carefully through all work zones and use alternate routes whenever possible. Visit the project website for additional information.

N 4th Street, within the City of Le Sueur needs improvements to address failing pavement and underground utilities.
