LeRoy-Rose Lake Fire Department

LeRoy-Rose Lake Fire Department Official page for the LeRoy-Rose Lake Fire Department. Founded in 1951, the LRFD began providing fire suppression services to the area.

The LeRoy-Rose Lake Fire Department provides an 'all hazards' response to the LeRoy and Rose Lake areas. Eventually, due to being the most centrally located, LeRoy was the first fire department in the county to receive vehicle extrication tools, commonly known as 'The Jaws". By using mutual-aid agreements, LeRoy provided vehicle rescue services to all of Osceola County until other fire departments

were able to provide the service themselves. By the 80s, many members were EMTs or above, and were providing prompt first-response medical care prior to the arrival of an ambulance. Today, the LRFD provides an 'all hazards' approach, meaning the department is capable of responding to nearly any type of emergency. In addition to fire suppression and medical care, the LRFD trains for various types of rescues, including vehicle accidents, water emergencies, & wilderness search and rescue.

# PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
--------------------

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. The combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Be careful with any activities that could potentially lead to a wildfire. Camping...outdoor grills...smoking materials...chain saws...and all terrain vehicles all have the potential to throw a spark and ignite a dangerous and destructive fire.

# AREAS AFFECTED
--------------------

Ionia, Clare, Clinton, Gratiot, Isabella, Lake, Mecosta, Montcalm, Newaygo, Osceola

Check to see if conditions are safe for open burning.

Your Leroy-Rose lake fire fighters have been busy responding to multiple calls for service. Throughout our coverage area and mutual aid we have responded to several downed power lines and trees blocking roadways. Please be extra vigilant if you need to leave your house. Road conditions have worsened, most roads are impassable due to downed trees. Emergency crews can be seen in multiple areas in Leroy-Rose lake and surrounding townships and counties handling downed power lines, and other emergency calls. A big shout out to our 911 Emergency Dispatchers for doing an awesome job by handling so many calls within such a short time. Please Be safe, only venture out if you absolutely have to, as there are still trees falling in the roadway.

This weekend brings more snow and ice, if you must go out please travel safe, and be prepared forPossible power outages ...

The LeRoy Rose Lake Fire Department is very proud of the dedicated men and women who go out of their way to provide the best services possible to our communities. One of our youngest members volunteered to apply for funding from TC Energy for new turnout gear and was successful in obtaining a $11,000 grant. Wow. Thank you so much!
