Happy Arbor Day, LeRoy! We are so thrilled to announce that the City of LeRoy has been named a Tree City USA community!

To earn Tree City USA recognition, a city must uphold four core standards including maintaining a tree board or department, having a community tree ordinance, spending at least $2 per capita on urban forestry, and participating in an Arbor Day celebration.

The LeRoy Tree Committee believes that trees are essential to a healthy and sustainable community and we are aiming to put more trees in the ground every year. 🌳

Yesterday, the committee had the opportunity to plant 3 redbuds on the boulevard of Park Avenue in town. These trees will remain on the small to medium size and have beautiful pink-magenta blooms in spring.
