Congratulations to firefighter Caleb D. Waters for graduating from the Illinois Fire Service Institute Basic Operations Firefighter (BOF) Program!

A blended 18-week program of online learning and hands-on fireground training provided advanced knowledge experience toward becoming a State Certified Firefighter with Advanced Technician Firefighter (ATF) certification. Caleb dedicated over 350 hours to this course including 10 full weekends at off-site training locations. Additionally, he will complete a 40-hour Hazmat Operations class as part of the certification process. All of this is in addition to his full-time job in the private sector.

The BOF certification was previously known as Firefighter II and ATF was Firefighter III. Caleb now joins ten other current members of the department who have completed FFII/BOF, FFIII/ATF, or who have completed the State Fire Academy at the Illinois Fire Service Institute in Champaign.

Please join us in thanking Caleb for his dedication to the LeRoy Fire Protection District and congratulating him on this accomplishment!
