Step back in time to explore regional history, the legendary Lone Star steamboat, and the life of Buffalo Bill Cody. The museum houses Buffalo Bill memorabilia, the wood-hulled steamboat "Lone Star" (the last working one of its kind on the Mississippi River; listed on the National Historic Register), riverboat pilot exhibits, Sauk and Fox tribe artifacts, and displays of pioneer life from the region. It also featues exhibits on two "famous sons" - - James Eads, the world famous engineer of the Eads Bridge in St.Louis, MO; and James Ryan, the inventor of the Flight Data Recorder or the "black box."

Long before digital yearbooks and modern sports complexes, hometown pride ran deep at the original LeClaire High. While the school itself is no longer around, its vibrant legacy is preserved right here in our exhibits.

Come explore our dedicated display filled with vintage green-and-white letterman sweaters, classic athletic uniforms, and early typewriters. You can even trace the community's roots through the historic class composite photos and panoramic portraits lining the walls.

Whether you have family ties to the alumni or simply love exploring local history, it is a fascinating glimpse into the early days of education and community life in our river town. Stop by this week to see what you can discover!
