Le Sueur County Emergency Management The Le Sueur County Emergency Management Team is dedicated to reducing the effects of disasters upon the people of the community.

We do this by proactive planning, preparation and hard work. Located in the county seat of Le Center, Minnesota, the Le Sueur County Emergency Management team is trained to handle and deploy responses to various types of emergency situations that could affect our community.

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Northeastern Blue Earth County in south central Minnesota...
Southwestern Le Sueur County in south central Minnesota...
Southeastern Nicollet County in south central Minnesota...

* Until 800 PM CDT.

* At 703 PM a severe thunderstorm was located near North Mankato, or 7 miles northwest of Mankato, moving southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.

A cold front is on our doorstep, but most should still get to highs in the 60s today. The front will pass mostly dry, with a very small chance for isolated rain at the surface. Cooler mornings are expected through Friday, with frost possible each morning.

* IMPACTS. . .Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.

Warm, dry and breezy conditions will create hazardous fire weather conditions today. The warming trend will continue through midweek but humidity levels will also be on the increase, culminating in a strong likelihood of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday with a cold frontal passage. Cooler temperatures are then expected for the end of the week into the weekend.

* At 832 AM, a severe thunderstorm was located over Elysian, or
16 miles east of Mankato, moving northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD. . .Half dollar size hail.

IMPACT. . .Damage to vehicles is expected.
