I believe homeownership is essential for young families and for the long-term strength of our communities. Today, the average age of first-time homebuyers continues to rise, placing the dream of owning a home further out of reach for many. A home is more than just an investment for a family; it is an investment in stable neighborhoods, strong communities, and future generations. We must work to reduce the barriers that prevent young families from achieving homeownership and creating roots in the communities they call home.

Did you know that Utah is one of only eight states that impose a tax on Social Security? It’s time to remove state taxes from Social Security recipients. This unwanted tax upon our citizens with fixed incomes is a top priority for me.

I’m willing to stand for you in the Utah Legislature. Let’s get this tax stopped.

As a gentle reminder, here are my priorities as your Representative serving you HD 16.

1–Affordable Housing
2-Removing the state tax on Social Security totally.
3-Fixing the inequities in the property tax.
