Presidential Primary Election Information

Election will be Tuesday, February 27, 2024

There are 3 ways to vote:

1-In Person on Election Day - Voters registered in Porter Township can vote at the Porter Township Hall, 88040 M-40, Lawton, MI from 7 am to 8 pm. You can find out if you are registered and where to vote at www.michigan.gov/vote .

2-Absentee Ballot - Applications for Absentee Ballots have been mailed to anyone on the Permanent Application List. You can fill out the form and submit it online at www.michigan.gov/vote , or you can print the form and submit it to the township. To avoid mailing delays, Porter Township voters can consider dropping your ballot at Porter Township's 24 hour drop box, located at the Porter Township Hall. Township Clerk hours are also available on the website - Absentee Ballots can be picked up in person - please check for Clerk office hours and bring photo ID.

3-Early Voting - Van Buren County has one central location for all Early Voting. It is happening right now at: Human Services West Building, 57418 CR 681, Hartford, MI (next to the fair grounds). Early voting began Saturday 2/17, and will be open until Sunday 2/25. Early Voting Hours are 9 am - 5 am daily, except Wednesday - hours are noon - 8 pm.

It's a little too cold today for the fog seal to be able to dry on two lanes, so we only completed one lane and we will be back out tomorrow for the second lane in Porter Township!

Lawton Schools will have a bus at the Hall everyday from 11:30-12:30 do get lunch’s to kids that would like them. The kids do not have to attend Lawton Schools. Please pass onto other in the area.
