The shoutout of the week goes to CDT Surrency!Surrency has been a role model for a lot of cadets in the program and we’re super excited to see him commission in December!!

What’s your “why” for joining the program?
“My “why” is simple. I joined the Comanche Battalion in order to commission as an officer in the United States Army.”

What does your life look like outside of uniform?
“Outside of the uniform I do my best to stay busy and enjoy my time while I can. Reading is one of the hobbies that takes up most of my time.”

Who do you aspire to be like?
“I aspire to be like my grandfather, whom I believe encapsulates what a man should be.”

Favorite quote, and why it resonates with you?
“It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, then to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.” - Julius Caesar

What’s your “why” for joining the program?
- “I wanted to join rotc to become an officer so that I could lead soldiers. I feel like I have the skills of common sense and simplicity so everyone to the lowest level would be able to understand. I thrive in high stress environments, so to be able to lead a larger element to success has always been a goal for myself.”

What does your life look like outside of uniform?
- “I like to fish, go to the gym and watch Netflix”

Who do you aspire to be like?
- “my father”

What’s your Favorite quote and why does it resonate with you?
- “The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.” -rumí

It just shows me that some times you need to just take a step back and observe even when you want to say something.
