🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Jacquelyn Jones 🌟

Today we are honored to highlight one of our dedicated CASA volunteers, Jacquelyn Jones, and the heart she brings to her advocacy work with children in Southwest Oklahoma.

“What first brought me to CASA was my previous experience serving as a Guardian Ad Litem. The role is closely aligned with the work CASA does, and I found that advocating for children in that capacity was incredibly meaningful. Unfortunately this program isn’t active in Oklahoma, but when I learned about CASA, it felt like a natural continuation of the same mission—ensuring that children have someone in their corner who is committed to their best interests.”

Jacquelyn continues to serve with deep purpose and compassion, sharing what motivates her involvement:

“My favorite part of being involved with CASA is the opportunity to stand beside children who often don’t have a voice in their own circumstances. I fulfill a sense of purpose in my own life knowing that my advocacy helps ensure they are seen, heard, and supported. Being able to serve in a role that directly impacts their well-being is meaningful to me, and it further explains why acts of service are an essential part of who I am.”

We are incredibly grateful for Jacquelyn’s dedication, heart for service, and unwavering commitment to children. Her advocacy truly makes a difference every day. 💙

Yesterday was a special day in Jackson County for CASA of Southwest Oklahoma! 💙

Michael Smith, Maureen Wortham, and Perla Zuniga Perez, who were officially sworn in as Court Appointed Special Advocates by Judge Sommer Robbins.

During Child Abuse Awareness Month, their commitment carries even deeper meaning. This month reminds us of the importance of protecting children and ensuring every child has a safe, nurturing environment, and these three individuals have stepped forward to be part of that mission.
Each of them has chosen to be a voice for children who need someone to stand beside them, speak up for their best interests, and ensure they are seen and heard. Their willingness to serve speaks volumes about their compassion and commitment to our community.
