A message from Dustin Miller
We are now entering into the final week of the campaign, and getting closer to the end of 2015.
This year has gone by so fast and alot has happened.
Our world has been plagued with so much negativity, violence and hate and it doesn't seem to be getting better.
The recent tragedies in our world has shown us that we aren't immune to violence.
We as a society have lost our concern for our fellow man. We don't spend quality time together as families anymore as everyone is busy with their schedules.
We've forgotten that in order to build a strong community that we must encourage and uplift.
I can see the world around me changing and I try my best to shield my family from the negativity, but I realized that more than my family needed shielding.
We all know that there are no right or wrong answers to making our world a better place but we have to start standing up for our communities. This isnt a black thing or a white thing, its a Right Thing.
If we dont come together and work to strengthen our community then we ALL lose.
I've taken a stand and made a commitment to try to make a difference and trust me it hasn't been easy, but nothing in life is easy.
Running for a political office takes very thick skin and you have to constantly pray to keep your composure and calm your temperament.
My mom always taught me that in competition some people will play dirty especially when they know they can't beat you head up.
Sometimes you have to laugh just to keep your very own sanity, but guess what, I signed up for it and im ready.
Im not deterred by dirty politics, nor will I allow people who only want to benefit themselves to continue to poison our community and stunt our growth.
Listen, I'm not saying you have to run for office to make a change, but we all have to do something before it gets worse.
If all you are doing is standing on the sidelines promoting division, spreading hate, gossiping, and adding to the continued decay of our community, then step aside because those of us who truly care have alot of work to do! !!!!!!
I am a product of District 40, I will stand for the people of District 40, and trust me when I say that I won't get lost finding my way around the District.
Many of you may not be aware, but in the race for District 40, I am the only candidate who has lived, worked and been active within the District.
I am also the Only candidate in this race that has run a positive campaign. My opponent has used negative campaign tactics like those you see when out of state interest come into our town trying to buy a seat and control our area.
I am standing on my years of service and commitment to District 40 throughout the years and my biggest experience , which is the largest factor, and that is the fact that I've been here all my life, I didn't just show up to run for this seat in January.
If a soldier (candidate )has been on the front line fighting for years and knows the territory of his combat, would you push him aside for a new soldier with no experience of the territory and no combat experience ??, only if you wanted to lose the war.
Let's win this war in our communities, send a fighter who is already trained and can hit the ground running in that combat zone in Baton Rouge.
I am the only candidate that can say with all honesty that I have been here trying to make a difference and fighting for our community prior to running for this seat.
I am the only candidate who has experience in Healthcare,Education, Balancing Budgets, Economic Development as well as Building Community Relations.
Neither Candidate in this race has written legislation, and Neither Candidate has legislative experience.
I ask you to give me the opportunity to help us ALL grow together and build a better community for everyone.
I can't do it alone, but together we can strike a mighty blow for District 40 progress and get our fair share from Baton Rouge.
Thank you to my support system (my family, friends and supporters ). Im truly blessed to have you all.
Thank you the to District 40 residents who have endured weeks of phone calls, radio ads, canvassers, facebook post etc , i know its been alot throughout the election but it is important to get our positive message out to our voters . (It's almost over, lol)
I'm asking for your Vote on November 21,2015
Please Vote #92,It's Not Just Politics, It's Our FUTURE
