Bringing our community together year-round. From holiday celebrations to family fun days and programs for all ages, we are here for everyone in Lawrence Township. Every event and program is designed with the community in mind. We proudly host Community Day & Food Truck Festival, the Veterans Day Ceremony, the Memorial Day Parade, Independence Day Fireworks,

the 9/11 Ceremony, the Valentine’s Day Candle Walk, Trunk or Treat, the Spring Egg Hunt, the Holiday Tree Lighting, and our Halloween and Holiday House Decorating Contests, along with many more traditions that unite neighbors, families, and friends. Beyond special events, we offer year-round recreation programs including youth wrestling, youth basketball, the youth swim team, swim lessons, adult walking club, fitness and exercise classes, and summer camps, along with many more opportunities for recreation and learning. We also operate open swim, lap swim, and swim lessons on evenings and weekends at the Lawrence High School pool. The Anne Demarais Nature Center is proudly managed by the Recreation Department, and we continue to invest in parks and playground improvements across the township. We also collaborate with local youth organizations to support community programs and strengthen recreational opportunities. Our programs are designed for children, teens, adults, and seniors, creating opportunities to connect, grow, and belong. Community is at the heart of everything we do, and we invite you to be part of it.

Although today’s Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony were canceled, wreaths were still placed at Township monuments in honor of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE & CEREMONY CANCELLED

Due to the forecasted weather, the Lawrence Township Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, May 23 has been canceled.

There is no rain date.

While we are disappointed that we cannot come together as a community to honor our fallen heroes, Memorial Day remains a time to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE & CEREMONY CANCELLED
Due to the forecasted weather, the Lawrence Township Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, May 23 has been canceled.

Memorial Day Weekend is almost here! 🇺🇸

Join us this Saturday, May 23rd at 10am as the community comes together for the Lawrence Township Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony.

Help us honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while enjoying this meaningful community tradition. The parade will conclude at Veterans Park for the Memorial Day Ceremony.

Hot dogs and water will be available after the ceremony.

We hope to see residents, families, and friends along the parade route as we remember and honor together. ❤️🤍💙

Lawrence Township is proud to announce Retired Staff Sergeant James S. Kownacki as the 2026 Grand Marshal for the Lawrence Township Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony.

SSG Kownacki served our country for 24 years and continues to serve our community as a Lawrence Township Councilmember. He also volunteers with the Lawrence Township Patriotic Committee and the Militia Museum at the 112th National Guard Armory in Lawrence Township.

Please join us as we honor Grand Marshal James S. Kownacki and remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Our Lawrence Seniors had a wonderful time last night attending the Senior Citizen Prom hosted by Notre Dame High School! The evening was filled with music, dancing, laughter, and plenty of Hollywood glamour as everyone enjoyed a fun night out with friends and great company.

Primetime Athletics, in partnership with Lawrence Recreation, is bringing the heat with a Summer Basketball Camp for students entering grades 3–9. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to sharpen their game, this camp focuses on skill development, competitive drills, and real gameplay in a fun, supportive environment.
