Goodfaith

Goodfaith Goodfaith is an independent, non-profit Catholic apostolate based in New Jersey. For more information, check out our programs page.

Our mission is to cultivate a vibrant community of faith in action through transformative experiences of missionary discipleship rooted in Catholic social tradition. Our Mission and Our Faith: The Center for FaithJustice inspires the next generation of leaders by creating programs to serve those in need and educate for justice in the Catholic tradition. Who We Are: Rooted in the Catholic tradition

, the Center for FaithJustice affirms the essential relationship between what we believe and how we live. We join the words “Faith” and “Justice” into a single term to reflect our conviction that faith and justice are intimately bound together. God calls us – as individuals and as communities – to act on behalf of the vulnerable, weak and oppressed. Through CFJ’s work, we ask people of faith to revisit and renew their commitment to the Gospel and the common good. We are inspired by the Second Vatican Council’s teaching that “[t]he laity must take up the renewal of the temporal order as their own special obligation,” and thus “[e]verywhere and in all things they must seek the justice of God’s kingdom.” Through our projects, we hope that people of good will grow in understanding of the spiritual life and deepen their commitment to pursuing social, economic, and political justice for all people. Since our founding in 2008, we have served more than 4,000 young people through our WorX programs, which are retreat-style service immersion experiences. Our alumni have gone on to become impressive servant leaders in many diverse fields.

Evangelization is more than inviting people into the Church. It’s showing people who Jesus is through the kind of society we build.

In this clip from our new episode of In Goodfaith with Cathy Johnson, Maggie Smith reflects on why proclaiming the Gospel and pursuing a more just social order must go hand in hand. Faith doesn’t stop at words; it transforms how we live, serve, and care for one another.

In this clip from an early episode of In Goodfaith, our founder Seán Sandford—Director of Mission at the Office for Ignatian Spirituality—tells us about his experience seeing Pope Francis. What moved him was the unmistakable joy on Francis’s face: “Here he was, just so happy to be with us.”

At Goodfaith, we believe transformation, in us and through us, is rooted in the goodness of the Gospel. Part of that transformation is learning to honor the wisdom within us, recognize the dignity of every body, and accompany one another with compassion on the journey toward wholeness.

Stress doesn’t just live in our minds. Our bodies carry it, too.

Somatic Stress Release practitioner Karen Bortvedt Estrada returns to In Goodfaith to explains how movement, stillness, noticing, and even a simple pause can help us listen to our bodies and move toward calm.

What might your body be asking you to notice today?

Authenticity begins with leaders who are willing to be human.

When youth ministers speak honestly about mistakes, growth, and repair, they give young people permission to show up without pretending they have everything figured out. Creating meaningful connection isn’t about performing perfection—it’s about modeling the courage to be known.

Karen Bortvedt Estrada joins us again on In Goodfaith to explore how we can build ministry spaces rooted in safety, honesty, and belonging.

What do you think? Should tech serve people first?

In the latest episode of In Goodfaith, Kim Daniels, director of the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life at Georgetown, unpacks how Catholic social teaching offers a powerful lens for thinking about AI: not just what it can do, but who it serves.

The promise of AI only becomes good when companies are held accountable and the technology is guided by human dignity, justice, and the common good.

As Pope Leo reminds us, the measure of progress is not just innovation, but whether it truly lifts people up.

"Standing in Solidarity" 🤝✨

So happy to share this vibrant artwork created by Brother Mickey McGrath! Originally commissioned for the Sisters of Saint Joseph (SSJs) in Philadelphia, Br. Mickey generously opened the piece up to fellow social justice organizations so we can all stand together under a shared banner of justice, service, and love.

Work-life balance isn’t a sign of less commitment. It reflects a desire to fulfill our life’s work while remaining grateful for—and present to—God’s blessings.

Younger generations have watched their parents struggle to slow down. Those who have followed a call to ministry are asking an important question: “How can we build lives of passion, purpose, faith, and family without burning out?”

Don’t miss our latest episode of In Good Faith with Charlotte F. McCorquodale (Ministry Training Source). 🎧

Pope Leo XIV is calling young people beyond the couch.

Bring your energy. Become servants wherever you are. Transform suffering into spaces of hope. Serve with joy, especially those the world forgets.

This is holy rebellion: love in motion.
