Jon Setzer for Superior Court

Jon Setzer for Superior Court Candidate for Gwinnett Superior Court, 2018.

When I went to sleep last night, I knew. I knew this wasn't to be my time. I put in a lot of hours and spent a lot of time away from my family and my job during this campaign. But, I knew there was a chance that I wouldn't be elected. For me, that was a difficult risk to take, and I think that I've grown because of doing so. As disappointed as I feel, I know that I am still very lucky.

I have been grateful to so many people during this campaign for believing in me, encouraging me, and voting for me. I cannot begin to thank you enough, but I'm going to try. Thank you especially to my parents, my sisters, and my wife Heather and our sons, without whom I could not have made it through this campaign. Lastly, to John Burdges, Veronica Cope, Tracey Mason, and Jason Park, thank you for running, as well. And to Tracey and Veronica, best of luck in July.

The polls are open all across Gwinnett County, and they will be open until 7:00pm. Please go out and vote.

Voting, for me, has always carried a certain weight of civic responsibility, as I try to take seriously what it means to elect individuals who I hope will be able to best serve not only my interests, but also those of the community they serve. This election has been stressful for me, but as it draws to a close, I want to thank each and every one of you who have helped me along the way. I will try to get to you individually over the coming weeks. I'd be honored to have your vote today as you go out to the polls (found here: https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do)

It's the night before Election Day, and we're getting ready for one last push before the polls open. Special thanks to everyone helping us put out signs across Gwinnett County tonight.

Tomorrow is Election Day. No matter what happens tomorrow, I am glad that I made the decision to run. Meeting so many people and trying something that I never thought I would do are things that vastly outweigh the stress of the last several months and the nervousness that awaits me tomorrow evening. Several people have noted that I have gotten very far out of my comfort zone during this process, and doing so has made me realize that the qualities that I have that would make me a good judge have made me a poor politician.

Please get out and vote tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far.

Election Day is just one week from today. But, early voting ends this Friday, May 18. You can currently vote at the Gwinnett Board of Elections at 455 Grayson Highway, Suite 200 or one of the seven satellite locations. Next Tuesday, you'll have to vote at your precinct (which you can find here: https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do).

Even though the election is just around the corner, there is still time to help. If you'd like to help the campaign, just share this post on your page and recommend me. Every share can make just a little difference.
