Meherrin-Powellton Elementary School is located in the southern end of Brunswick County about 9 miles from the town of Lawerenceville, VA. The school houses Headstart - 5th grade.

Yesterday, our MP family gathered together for a heartfelt end-of-the-year cookout filled with love, laughter, celebration, and emotional goodbyes. 🥹✨
As we prepare to close this chapter at Meherrin-Powellton Elementary School, we took time to honor our retirees, celebrate new beginnings, and cherish the memories we’ve made together through the years. 💚

👶 We also celebrated Ms. Reed and her growing family with a sweet baby shower.
💚 And with heavy hearts, we shared a farewell gathering for Ms. Stith, our wonderful bookkeeper, who will not be with us next school year.
The hugs, tears, smiles, and laughter captured in these moments remind us that MP has always been more than a school—it has been family. 🦅💚
🍽️🎶 Special thank you to our amazing PTA for sponsoring the delicious food and DJ that helped make this gathering so special and memorable for our staff! Thank you Tony Pearson for the delicious foods and Aaron Moore for the good music.

🥹🦅 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 🦅🥹
Today, our hearts felt every emotion imaginable as our Eagles climbed onto the buses for the final time at Meherrin-Powellton Elementary School. 🥹🦅
Before heading home, the buses made special laps around the track while teachers and staff stood outside waving, smiling through tears, and holding onto one last moment together. 💚✨
For generations, these hallways have been filled with laughter, learning, friendships, celebrations, and unforgettable memories. Today was more than the end of a school year—it was the closing of a chapter that has touched so many lives.
As the buses slowly made their final ride around MPES, it felt like time paused for just a moment. Every wave carried memories. Every smile carried gratitude. Every tear carried love for the place we have called home for so many years. 🥹
Though we say goodbye to this building, the spirit of MP will never leave us. The memories made here, the lessons learned, and the love shared within these walls will forever live in the hearts of every Eagle who walked through these doors. 💚
Next year, we begin a new chapter in a new school, but MPES will always be part of who we are. 🦅✨

Today marked the last day of school, and we made sure to capture these special memories together as an MP family. 💚✨
Our Eagles ended the year with smiles, laughter, prizes, celebrations, and a sweet ice cream treat provided by Dominion Energy! 🍦💛
We also celebrated our students’ hard work, growth, and dedication throughout the school year—including all their efforts and success on their tests. 🌟📚
As we close this chapter, we are filled with pride, gratitude, and so many unforgettable memories made together at MPES. 🥹💚
