Our LHS QUEST program has been selected to receive a $750 Plymouth Rock Assurance/New Jersey Hall of Fame Field Trip Grant, helping provide our LHS QUEST students with an exciting educational experience beyond the classroom.

The grant will support a field trip to the New Jersey Hall of Fame at American Dream, where students will have the opportunity to explore the stories and achievements of remarkable New Jerseyans who have made a lasting impact on our state and beyond.

Congratulations to our Transition Coordinator, Anthony Salotti for submitting the grant proposal, and our QUEST students and staff, and thank you to Plymouth Rock Assurance and the New Jersey Hall of Fame for investing in meaningful learning opportunities for students!

Today, LMS 101 came to LIS to give current 6th graders a preview of all the exciting opportunities awaiting them at middle school! Students learned about academics, expectations, extracurricular activities, House Relays, after-school clubs, the "Cardinal Code," and more as they prepare for their transition to LMS.

LMS Cardinal Ambassadors shared their experiences, answered questions, and offered advice for success. Dr. Milavsky spoke about how to be a STAR at LMS, while house leaders and ambassadors highlighted the many ways students can get involved and make the most of their middle school experience. Last night, Lawrence Intermediate School opened its doors to incoming fourth graders and their families for an evening designed to help students feel excited and prepared for their transition to LIS!

Families had the opportunity to tour the building, visit fourth-grade classrooms, explore the "specials" rooms and learn more about what to expect in the year ahead. Principal Rello shared an overview of life at LIS and answered questions about academics, activities, and the transition to intermediate school.

Students also got a preview of the instrumental music program, including the chance to see the instruments they may choose to play next year.

Throughout the evening, LIS sixth-grade ambassadors were stationed around the building to welcome families, answer questions, and serve as tour guides, helping future fourth graders feel right at home in their new school.

On Friday, June 5th, students from LHS attended the Special Olympics year-end youth summit. This event brought together students from high schools across the state to share the unified initiatives they executed during the year. 🍌🏃‍♀️🎉 Slackwood Elementary School was buzzing with energy as students, families, and community members came together for their annual Banana Run and International Fun Day!

The morning kicked off with an International Parade and continued with the Banana Run, family fitness stations, smoothie tasting, and a Family Fun Day celebration. By connecting the event with International Day of Families, Slackwood created a joyful opportunity to celebrate family, wellness, community, and the diversity that makes the school so special.

🌎🎉 Lawrence High School held its annual Culture Fest on Saturday June 6. Culture Fest is one of the many ways LHS celebrates the rich diversity of its school community. Organized by the International Alliance, this annual event showcases the many cultures represented at LHS through performances, displays, food, and activities that bring students and families together.

The International Alliance is dedicated to promoting cultural awareness and appreciation throughout LHS and the Lawrence community. Events like Culture Fest help students gain a deeper understanding of the multicultural nature of our school while fostering connection, respect, and a sense of belonging for all.

Lawrence Middle School is proud to congratulate Julia Roszkowski, Nia Lewis, and Michelle Pierog for earning the Best Messaging Award in Capital Health’s 2025-2026 Post Positive PSA Video Contest.

Their public service announcement effectively promoted positive social media use and highlighted the importance of kindness, encouragement, and responsible online interactions. As a result of their award-winning submission, Lawrence Middle School received a $2,000 prize, which will be used to support student end-of-year activities and celebrations. This recognition marks the fifth consecutive year that Lawrence Middle School students have earned a $2,000 award through a Capital Health student video contest—an impressive testament to the creativity, talent, and positive impact of our students.
