Brunswick County is currently accepting applications for the following available positions.

1. Director of Finance. This full-time position works under the general supervision of the County Administrator. The duties of this position include performing advanced professional and supervisory duties in managing and monitoring all finance-related functions for the County.

2. Facilities and Grounds Worker I. This full-time position works under the general supervision of the Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor. The duties of this position include assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of buildings and grounds, performing minor repairs, cleaning, and landscaping tasks.

3. Landfill Inspector. (FULL-TIME) This full-time position works under the general supervision of the Director of Solid Waste. The duties of this position include inspecting solid waste, monitoring solid waste collection and disposal activities, performing maintenance on equipment as needed and other related duties. Applicants must possess a valid and appropriate driver’s license and CDL license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

4. Landfill Inspector. (PART-TIME) This part-time position works under the general supervision of the Director of Solid Waste. The duties of this position include inspecting solid waste, monitoring solid waste collection and disposal activities, performing maintenance on equipment as needed and other related duties. Applicant must possess a valid and appropriate driver’s license and CDL license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Part-Time Customer Service Generalist - DMV Select

Brunswick County is seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to serve as a Part-Time Customer Service Generalist within the DMV Select/Customer Service Center.

This position provides front-line customer assistance related to vehicle registration, titling, and other customer service functions while working in a professional local government environment.

Essential Duties Include:
•Assisting customers with DMV Select transactions and related services
•Processing registrations, titles, fees, and payments
•Reconciling daily collections using automated systems
•Providing courteous and efficient customer service
•Managing inventory associated with DMV operations

Minimum Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED equivalent
•At least one (1) year of customer service or related experience preferred
•Strong communication and organizational skills
•Ability to work with computers, and other general office equipment

Position Details:
•Part-time position, 3 days per week (on-site)
•Flexible schedule may be available
•$15/hour

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 7:30 p.m., or soon thereafter, by the Brunswick County Planning Commission to consider the following:

Proposed update to the Brunswick County Comprehensive Plan that would specifically recognize and incorporate provisions regarding Alternative (Renewable Energy) Power, including the County’s acreage cap on the amount of solar project development in the County, into the Comprehensive Plan.

The public hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the Brunswick County Conference Center located at 100 Athletic Field Road, Lawrenceville, VA 23868. Persons may appear and present their views at the public hearing. A copy of the above referenced Comprehensive Plan update is available for public inspection during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.) at the County Planning Director's Office, located in the County Government Building, Basement, 228 North Main Street, Lawrenceville, Virginia, or through email by contacting [email protected].
