Today, we proudly recognize International Firefightersโ€™ Day and take a moment to honor our brave members who serve our community with courage, commitment, and compassion.

The members of the Lawrenceburg Fire Department stand ready 24/7, answering the callโ€”whether itโ€™s fire suppression, emergency medical care, rescue operations, or supporting our neighbors in times of need. This day is not only a celebration of the work we do, but also a tribute to the sacrifices made by firefighters everywhere.

We also remember those who have given their lives in the line of duty. Their dedication and legacy will never be forgotten.

Thank you to our firefighters, past and present, and to your families who support you every step of the way. We are honored to serve this community together.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Industrial Fire Response
4/27/2026

Lawrenceburg, TN- Fire crews responded initially for a fire alarm activation (manual pull) at 2006 Liberty Ave. While responding, Lawrence County E-911 received confirmation of a fire at the facility from plant personnel. Crews arrived to find the a CO2 fire suppression system had been activated by plant personnel. LFD crews made entry to the affected area and confirmed that the fire had been extinguished. Crews remained on site to briefly help with ventilation. No injuries occurred and damage was very limited. The cause of the fire was determined to be flammable ink vapors being ignited from a seized equipment bearing.

The Lawrenceburg Fire Department would like to acknowledge the swift actions of the plant personnel. They quickly recognized fire conditions, manually activated the fire suppression system, evacuated the entire faculty, and notified 911 of a confirmed fire. This is precisely how the response system should work and thanks to their quick actions, the fire was quickly extinguished.
