⚠️ SCAM ALERT ⚠️

We have received reports of a scam phone call circulating today. The caller claims that the recipient failed to report for jury duty and that a federal warrant has been issued for their arrest. The caller then states that the warrant can be recalled or resolved if a payment is made.

This is a scam.

Law enforcement agencies and courts do not demand payment over the phone to resolve warrants, jury duty issues, or other legal matters. Scammers often use fear and urgency to pressure victims into making immediate payments.

If you receive one of these calls:
• Do not provide any personal or financial information.
• Do not send money or purchase gift cards.
• Hang up immediately.
• Report the incident to your local law enforcement agency.

Please share this information with family and friends, especially those who may be more vulnerable to these types of scams.

Stay vigilant and help us spread awareness.

On May 2nd, 2026, and May 6th, 2026, the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office responded to two (2) separate suspicious persons/circumstance calls in the area of the Picnic Lawn Apartments in Bright, Indiana. Both of these incidents have been investigated to the fullest by Dearborn County Detectives. Upon the conclusion of these investigations, we are confident that both of these incidents were not that of attempted child abductions. We have increased patrols in the area for extra precaution; however at this time we feel that there is no direct threat. As always, anytime you see something you feel to be suspicious, please contact Dearborn County Dispatch or call 911. We appreciate the vigilance of the community for these incidents, and will take any future reports just as serious.

Happy National Corrections Officers Week! We are thankful for our Corrections Officers and proud of the job they do.

Happy National Corrections Officers Week! We are thankful for our Corrections Officers and proud of the job they do.

The Indiana Sheriffs’ Association proudly recognizes and honors National Corrections Officer Week.

May 3-9, 2026

Corrections Officers serve on the front lines every day , often behind the scenes, upholding the thin blue line with professionalism, strength, and dedication. They play a critical role in maintaining safety, order, and security within our facilities and communities.

Their work does not always receive the recognition it deserves, but their impact is undeniable. From monitoring and managing complex environments to supporting rehabilitation and safety, they are an essential part of our law enforcement family.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all Corrections Officers across Indiana for your courage, commitment, and unwavering service.

Thank you for all that you do! We appreciate you!
