We’ve begun the process of checking on our Douglas County Kansas Master Gardeners Micro Grant recipients from 2025! Last June, applications were opened for gardens that supported the Master Gardener’s mission “share[ing] research-based, horticultural information with residents of Douglas County, in partnership with Extension.” Recipients could receive up to $500 from the mini grants to support a new or existing vegetable, fruit, or pollinator garden project. These check-ins help ensure that the gardens are thriving and getting the support they need, as well as offer the opportunity to see if there are any additional resources we can help provide through the extension office! Since applications were limited to public schools and community gardens, so as to support public access to gardens and programming, odds are you’ve probably wandered past one of these gardens or recognize some of the photos. We can’t wait to see how these gardens continue to grow and flourish!
Does this grant sound like something that would benefit your own community garden project? Keep an eye out for future announcements here on our social media!
