We are fortunate to have convenient parking next to our facility... and now, that parking is more meaningful and beautiful! Come check out the new mural!

Meet "Sempiternal," meaning "The Beginning, But No End, Everlasting," a new mural at the Vermont Street Parking Garage.

Selected by the Lawrence Cultural Arts Commission, local artist Tokeya Waci U (Comes Dancing First) Richardson, a member of the Oglala Lakota and Haliwa-Saponi Tribes, created a mural celebrating Native heritage and cultural connection through local landmarks, Native imagery, and community handprints.

"There's a story behind every piece of art I create, and when the community helps create a mural, people see themselves reflected in it," said Tokeya Waci U Richardson.

This project is part of Parking Services' commitment to beautifying public spaces throughout our city.

SRC, including Senior Wheels, will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026 in honor of Memorial Day.
