The U.S. Census Bureau released 2025 population estimates for cities and towns on May 14th. Shown below is the smallest incorporated city in each Kansas County. These cities vary in size from a population of 8 (Waldron, Kansas located in Harper County) to 5,524 (Ulysses, Kansas located in Grant County).

The U.S. Census Bureau released the 2025 population estimates with components of change for counties this morning. Births outnumbered deaths from 2020-2025 in twenty-seven Kansas counties. Fifty-three counties showed negative net migration, mainly due to domestic outmigration.

Happy Kansas Day! Kansas became a state on January 29, 1861, marking today as the 165th anniversary of this significant milestone. According to the 1860 Census, the state had a population of 107,206 residents. Since then, the state population has grown by 2,863,400 people!
