In the fire service, tradition plays a vital role in our past, present, and future. While much has evolved—from three-quarter-length coats and long boots to modern turnout gear, the use of SCBAs, and advanced tactics—one thing has always remained the same: the iconic red fire apparatus.

That’s why we’ve decided to modernize the look of our fleet here at LTES. Don’t worry—the service you know and trust hasn’t changed, but our trucks now have that classic, traditional firehouse look!

…or do they?

April Fools! I promise the trucks are still yellow and blue.

We hope everyone is enjoying the start of spring and the warmer weather ahead. If you want to double-check that the trucks are still yellow, feel free to stop by, say hello, and even pick up an application for LTES or the Auxiliary while you’re here.

Have a great day, everyone!

LTES was out with VBTech, along with Mike's Towing, to assist with teaching students vehicle extrication, stabilizing a vehicle using rescue struts, and the capabilities of our friends at our local towing companies. Always a great time working along side the students as they learn.

Today Chief Bill Featherstone and Assistant Medical Chief James Fein participated in the 2026 March Magic Basketball Challenge at the Bert Goens learning center and the Knights of Columbus.

It was awesome hanging out with the kids, playing a game with them and then the 3-point competition at the end.

It was a great day hanging out with the kids, teachers, MSP, VBCSD, Lawrence PD, LTES, Knights of Columbus, and everyone involved making this day possible.

Thank you for the invitation and we look forward to next year and future events.

On Friday LTES members were able to come together to enjoy a night off and well earned get together to celebrate the year at La Cantina. On this night we'd like to thank our community, LTES members, family and friends of our Department. Village of Lawrence, Arlington Township, and Lawrence Township boards to join us along with neighboring chiefs to celebrate a year of hard work and serving our community.

This is also the night we announce our firefighter of the year award and this year it goes to Steve Richardson!!!!

He is a mentor to all of us and helped to guide the department with his vast knowledge before shifting to now teach future generations at VBTECH in the Fire Science program. He is still an active member of LTES and we hope he continues to serve our community as a member, teacher, and role model.

Thank you Steve for all you do.

Picture is of Steve Richardson and Chief Featherstone with his award ax made by a member of LTES making it even more special.

LTES has upgraded the capabilities of one of our vehicles. Utility truck 1780 was equipped with a plow to help in not only maintaining our own facility but also to ensure if inclement weather happens that we can still clear a path to an emergency. 1780 was also licensed by the state as another medical response vehicle along with 1710 so we now have 2 vehicles to respond to medical emergencies. Thank you to the citizens of Lawrence Township, the Village of Lawrence, and Arlington Township.
