The Lavon Fire Department is proud to announce the addition of a 3,000-gallon Tender to our fleet, made possible through an apparatus matching grant from the Fire Department Assistance - Texas A&M Forest Service!

We are incredibly grateful for this investment in our department and the safety of the Lavon community. This new Tender will provide critical water supply during emergency operations in areas where fire hydrants and municipal water systems are limited or nonexistent. Having 3,000 gallons of water readily available will significantly enhance our ability to protect lives, property, and our community.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mayor Vicki Sanson, City of Lavon and the City Council for their continued support of the Lavon Fire Department. Your commitment to our firefighters and the resources we need to serve our growing community is truly appreciated.

Happy birthday Smokey Bear!🎂🐻

For over 80 years, Smokey Bear has reminded us that preventing wildfires starts with all of us. His efforts have helped protect our forests from wildfires, but that same message matters at home too.

Batteries can hide in unexpected places, from singing greeting cards, phone chargers to electric scooters, and when disposed of incorrectly, they can spark dangerous fires that put our communities at risk.

As we celebrate Smokey’s birthday, let’s all do our part, from nature to our neighborhoods, to stop fires before they start. Never throw batteries in the trash or recycling bin: Skip the Bin! Turn Your Batteries In! 🔋💚

They say it's just an old adage... but today we proved it's true.

Yes... firefighters really do rescue cats from trees! 🐈🌳🚒

Earlier today, B-Shift came to the aid of a frightened feline that had scrambled up a tree after being chased by a couple of unleashed dogs. While getting up was easy, coming back down wasn't.

With a little help from our firefighters, the adventurous cat was safely reunited with its very relieved owner.

Sometimes our calls involve fires, medical emergencies, and rescues, and sometimes they involve making sure a family pet gets home safely. We're happy this story had a purr-fect ending! ❤️🐾
