Laurium Manor Inn

Laurium Manor Inn Reservations & room rates are available here: www.Laurium.info We welcome you to come and live the opulence of our two Edwardian mansions.

Laurium Manor Inn and Victorian Hall have been restored into historic mansion hotels that have been welcoming guests since 1989. Our goal has been to create a welcoming inn that combines the best amenities from hotels with the comforts of a B & B. In 2017 we added a Vacation Home Rental to our lodging choices that we have named the Yellow House.

Snow Almost Gone?
I think for most people that when they still see 3-4 feet snowbanks that they do not think that the snow is almost gone, but if you had lived through this past winter in the Keweenaw when these banks were as high as 10 feet at times you can understand why Kevin thinks the snow is almost gone.. If the weather continues to warm up, these remaining snowbanks should be gone by Memorial Weekend.
With the snow melting and weather getting warmer, it is time for Julie and I to start thinking about returning to Laurium and giving Kevin a break after this past winter. Right now we are planning to be back by the end of this month to start our 37th year at the Laurium Manor Inn

Winter looks to be done.
The next ten days weather forecast shows sunshine and highs in the 50's so it looks like the snow shovels and plows can be put away for the season. It is time for the snow to melt and spring and summer to begin. 360 inches of snow melting has made our waterfalls spectacular this spring so come up for the nature water show happening all over the Keweenaw

Winter Continues
The Keweenaw has received 348" of snow so far this season with more on the way as Kevin explains

How we handle the snow

This is our first year using the battery powered snowblower here and Kevin has been very happy to have it this year. Until this year we used shovels and yooper scoopers to take care of the porch and stairs of the manor. We think that if it can handle a Keweenaw winter of snow it could work just about anywhere
We were fortunate that the worst of the storm went south and east of us. We are now at 329 inches of snow for the season. Only 62 inches to set a new record

313 inches of snow this season
Last night's storm dropped over 12 inches of snow with high winds that filled our driveway and stairs. This winter has kept Kevin very busy cleaning up after Heikki Lunta.

Almost 300 Inches of Snow

I'm glad we do not have to get into our summer home until the end of May. I hope all the snow is gone by then. We have had 296 inches this season so we have plenty of snow to come play in up here in the Keweenaw.

20" of Snow in the last two days
Another storm has dumped more snow on the Keweenaw. We are now up to 243 inches so it looks like we are well on our way to another 300 inch year
