City of Laurinburg Government

City of Laurinburg Government This is the official page for the City of Laurinburg. Welcome to our great city! Beneath the tall stately oaks lies Laurinburg, North Carolina.

A three-time All America City located in the Sandhills region, Laurinburg offers the charm and quiet living of a small southern town with close proximity to larger cities, the mountains and the coast. Developing from its rich agricultural heritage, Laurinburg is still an agricultural community and it is also the progressive business and cultural center of Scotland County.

🚒 Fire Hydrant Maintenance Notice

Laurinburg Fire Department would like to advise residents that routine fire hydrant maintenance will be taking place throughout the City of Laurinburg and Scotland County within our fire protection district.

During this maintenance, residents may notice brownish or discolored water coming from their faucets. This can occur when hydrants are flushed and water flow temporarily disturbs sediment in the water lines.

If you experience discolored water, please flush your cold-water pipes by running the cold water for several minutes until the water becomes clear.

This maintenance and hydrant flushing is a requirement of the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal (NCOSFM) and is necessary to help ensure our fire hydrants remain operational and ready when needed.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep our community safe. 🚒
