Today marks the beginning of EMS Week, and this year is especially meaningful as we celebrate 50 years of service to the citizens of Laurens County.

For five decades, the dedicated men and women of Laurens County EMS have answered the call day and night, providing compassionate care and lifesaving service to our community. We are proud of our history and grateful for the support of those we serve.

We would also like to thank the Laurens County Council for recognizing EMS Week through their official proclamation and for their continued support of emergency medical services.

As we celebrate EMS Week, please join us in honoring all EMS professionals — past and present — for their commitment, sacrifice, and dedication to serving others.

Today, members of Laurens County EMS were honored to attend the station dedication ceremony at Ekom Fire Station in memory of Firefighter Michael “Mike Mike” Vinson.

This dedication stands as a lasting tribute to a man who gave so much to his department, his community, and the fire service family. His legacy of service, sacrifice, and brotherhood will never be forgotten.
