Attention: Please be aware of a paving operation currently active in our area. These individuals are going door-to-door offering "discounted" driveway paving and repairs and claim they are using asphalt and materials from the County. They also claim they are contractors hired by the County. THIS IS FALSE INFORMATION!
Please verify claims like this by calling your Beat Road Department:

🚧 Jones County Beat One Roadwork Update 🚧

Attention residents and travelers of Jones County:

Please be advised that today, Jones County Beat One will be removing a large oak tree on Herman Welborn Road. Motorists should expect temporary delays or potential road closures in the area. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the safety and upkeep of our roads.

In addition, our team will be bush hogging in the following areas:

Lake Coma Rd

Sharon-Moss Rd

Sharon Rd

Please exercise caution when driving through these areas as equipment will be in use. We encourage everyone to stay alert and adhere to any posted signs or instructions from our road crews.

⚠️ATTENTION BEAT ONE RESIDENTS⚠️

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, a section of Sharon Moss Road between Shady Grove Moss Rd & North Hoy Rd, will be closed to through traffic, for a cross culvert replacement project.
The road will close at 8:00 am, and will reopen as soon as work is completed (expected completion by noon).
Thank you for your patience as we continue to maintain the roads in Beat One.

Houston Road will be CLOSED between Hwy 15 North & Forrest Drive beginning at 8:00 am Wednesday morning, July 30th, as we replace a cross pipe. Passenger vehicle traffic will be able to reroute around University Ave, Hoy Road or Lake Coma Road. Road will reopen as soon as work is completed.
