Coffee with the Community brought residents and visitors together at the LHA House Talk Coffee Shop for coffee and conversation.

R.O.S.S. Service Coordinator Eloria James and Beacon Homes Resident Council President Clifton Nicholson welcomed visitors, while Patricia Jordan Cook with the Laurel-Jones County Welcome Center stopped by to share more about what Laurel and Jones County have to offer. Eloria also provided blood pressure checks during the event.

The Mississippi License Express ID On-The-Go was on site at the Townley Center on Monday, making it easier for residents to access DMV services right in their community.

Triangle Homes ROSS Coordinator Shirmeca Currie and Beacon Homes ROSS Coordinator Eloria James were there to assist residents throughout the process.

One resident applied for her driver’s license, while another was able to get a state issued ID.

Bringing services directly to our communities helps remove some of the barriers residents may face when trying to access the resources they need.

We had a great morning at the LHA House Talk Coffee Shop for Coffee with the Community!

R.O.S.S. Service Coordinator Eloria James and Beacon Homes Resident Council President Clifton Nicholson started the morning with some of our younger visitors. They read together, talked and enjoyed a little time at the coffee shop.

Rev. Jerry James with the MLK Community Development Corporation also stopped by and encouraged residents to stay informed about what is happening in their community.

Ward Six Councilwoman Grace Amos joined us and shared updates on projects in the area, talked about how city government works and encouraged residents to get involved.

Eloria also provided blood pressure checks for residents and visitors while everyone enjoyed coffee and conversation.

Thank you to Councilwoman Amos, the Beacon Homes Resident Council, MLK Community Development Corporation and our residents for spending the morning with us!
