🌹 Lauderhill is Mourning 🌹
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Desorae Giles-Smith, a trailblazer, leader, and beloved public servant who dedicated her life to the City of Lauderhill.
As the first African American and first female City Manager, Desorae broke barriers and built bridges. Her decades of service—from Administrative Aide to City Manager—were marked by unwavering dedication, compassion, and visionary leadership. She was not only a steward of public trust but a champion for community empowerment, cultural enrichment, and peace.
Desorae’s legacy lives on in every initiative she touched, every life she uplifted, and every corner of Lauderhill she helped shape. Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will forever guide the city she loved so deeply.
