Westmoreland County Water Rescue Assets including Team 175 (Lloydsville, Bradenville, New Alexandria) are currently operating on the Western Side of Westmoreland County where the heavy rains are causing significant flooding.

As the rain continues please do not attempt to cross flooded roadways or wade thru flood waters!!!! This event is impacting all of Westmoreland County!!!

This morning, at our annual Memorial Day Service, we paused to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while defending our freedom. Members of the Department were joined by members from Dryridge Volunteer Fire Department, the Southwestern PA Firefighters’ Pipes and Drums Band, and local Scouts. This weekend members traveled to Emmitsburg, Maryland to participate in the National Fallen Firefighters 2025 Memorial Weekend. This year, Memorial Weekend honored 140 members from 2024 and years past, who lost their lives in the line of duty.

FirstEnergy has activated its Water & Ice program which makes customers in affected outage areas eligible for:

- Two (2) gallons of bottled water (or equivalent) and
- Two (2) bags of ice from the distribution sites, per family unit at no cost to the customer.

Below are the Giant Eagle distribution sites in Westmoreland County that will be activated at 1 pm today, May 1st, 2025, for customers who are in need:

Tonight Firefighter Mike O’barto Jr. passed Pump Operations I at WCCC’s Public Safety Training Center. This is a 16 hour course that introduces the basic concepts and methods of pump operations.

This week, Lieutenant Parker Foster III assisted the PSTC by providing the Engine for training.

Speaking of support, the Officers and Members of the department would like to take a moment to thank everyone who came out to the 25th Annual Tool Bash today! We had one of the largest crowds in recent memory. It is days like today that remind us how great our community is! A heartfelt “thank you” to everyone who bought tickets and attended today’s Bash. The Unity Township #6 VFD of Marguerite will be conducting the Annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, 30 May at 1000 am. This service is to honor our fallen military heros.

Everyone is invited to attend, the event is open to the public. Parking is at the Fire Department next to the memorial.

22-January-2004 this Department lost Capt. Keith Allen Firment in the Line of Duty. That day we lost a driving force, an advocate, a leader and a friend. We miss you, we have NOT forgotten you and we know you are watching over us. You are forever in our hearts Keith.
