Other duties include: serving on the San Joaquin County Water Advisory Board, the City of Lathrop and City of Manteca 2 x 2, and both the MUSD and BANTA 2x2 - to name , just a few. In addition to my time on City Council, I spent seven (plus) years as a commissioner for the City of Lathrop. I proudly served on the Parks and Recreation Commission, the Measure C Citizen’s Commission, and as a Planning Commissioner. During my tenure, I have consistently focused on responsible growth, supporting our first responders, and, most importantly, being a voice for our children and families. I volunteered over the past 10 pus years at Mossdale Elementary including servibg on the Mossdale School Site Council, Mossdale School Site Advisory Committee, the Alliance for a Healthier Generation Committee. I currently serve on the Mossdale School Site Safety Committee. In addition, I am also currently serving on the Lathrop High School School Site Council. Berkeley. I worked my way through undergraduate school and was first in my family to attend a UC. After I graduated, I married my high school sweetheart, John, and started our family. A few years later, I attended Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, went to night school, and graduated with my J.D. in December of 2009. During law school, I had the honor of being chosen to intern for the Office of Legislative Council in Sacramento where I drafted bills for our Assembly and Senate, prepared advisory legal opinions for our Governor, and attended committee hearings and floor sessions of the Legislature in an advisory capacity. With my education and real life experience, I truly understand the California legislative process and can faithfully say that I have hit the ground running for Lathrop including participating in the League of California Cities : Legislative Action Days in Sacramento meeting and advocating for Lathrop with our top legislators. I love living in Lathrop. I love raising my family in Lathrop. And I love serving you in Lathrop. Jennifer Torres-O’Callaghan

Last night the League of California Cities - Central Valley Division met in Merced California for our quarterly business meeting. There is something inspiring to meet with fellow elected officials of the Central Valley and to discuss issues we are all facing. It was an honor to have the League of California Cities President Gabe Quinto attend. Thank you to the City of Merced for hosting us.
