We have so many gifted children in our community. Performing Arts opens so many doors for all children. Here you see my daughter getting recognized by the Mayor and the City of Lathrop for her poem that was selected as number one. My daughter entered into a worldwide poetry competition for elementary school students and brought home the winning prize. It’s no question we as a community need a performing arts program here locally for elementary school students. I look forward to new opportunities for our young people.

Fun Fact
I taught myself how to play but I play by ear. I’m extremely rusty at this stage in my life. My dream and the dream of parents or caregivers is to insure our children have better opportunities than what we had. Shoutout to all the music teachers. The ear for music is there, the discipline to read music will be encouraged.

How important is music in the schools? It’s extremely important. My daughter took to the trumpet 🎺 this year but has an ear for music. She taught herself how to play the keyboard and is playing by ear. This is the same way I learned how to play.

Listening to my daughter practice her trumpet 🎺, reminds me how special and valuable music teachers are in the school system. Music teachers to beginner students hold a special place in my heart.

Yesterday I was able to drop off two more dresses.

Once I see the opportunity to give back, I jumped on the chance to help. I set a personal goal to collect 10 dresses. I exceeded that goal and was able to collect over 20 dresses. I’m so happy to know over 45 dresses found new homes. It was an honor to be part of this amazing vision.

My son wanted to sacrifice his tournament to help me knock on doors yesterday. I thank him for believing in me so much that he was willing to give up two game to help me gain a seat for area 2.
I asked him why would he do such a thing and his reply was, “My team may need me, but Lathrop is depending on you”

This was my moment to sacrifice for him.
