Earlier this month, Henderson Police officers traveled to Reno to attend the 39th Annual James D. Hoff Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony. During the ceremony, Sergeant Jaworski, Officer Jacobs and Officer Brown were recognized for their heroic actions during an officer-involved shooting involving a stolen front-end loader earlier this year.

History is being made at the Henderson Police Department. 🚔

Today, 56 recruits stepped onto the academy floor for their very first inspection — the official start of their journey to becoming Henderson police officers.

This is our largest academy class EVER — and if all recruits graduate in November, HPD could reach a near-zero percent vacancy rate for the first time in department history. This is a rare achievement in law enforcement and a direct result of the City’s sustained commitment to public safety.

We're proud of these recruits and excited for what's ahead. Stay tuned as we follow their journey to graduation!
