The 100 Deadliest Days! 🚗
Today, LVMPD Traffic Captain Jarvis Dudley joined UMC and community partners to raise awareness about reducing teen driving fatalities during the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day, commonly known as the “100 Deadliest Days.”
Research shows that during this timeframe, which includes several busy summer holidays and long weekends, fatal crashes involving teen drivers increase significantly. Inexperience behind the wheel, speeding, and impairment remain some of the leading contributing factors. The goal of today’s event was to share ways we can turn the 100 Deadliest Days into the 100 Safest Days.
Parents can help by having open conversations with teen drivers, setting clear expectations, and modeling safe driving habits. Drivers of all ages can do their part by slowing down, staying focused, avoiding impairment, buckling up, and making safe choices behind the wheel.
Together, as a community, we can help reduce not only teen driving fatalities, but all traffic-related deaths on our roadways!
