Our interns shined at the 2026 UNLV Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering Senior Design Awards.
In the largest graduating class the competition has ever seen, with nearly 200 students competing, two of our NV Energy interns took home awards.
🦾 Hewan Tamrat — Grand Prize, for STRIDE, a wearable PCB-based knee brace that integrates biomedical sensing, embedded systems, and mechanical design for real-time rehabilitation tracking.
The Grand Prize is awarded to the most impactful and well-executed engineering project across the entire graduating class.
🔬 Alireza Bolourian — Innovation Award, for MU-32, a next-gen scintillator cell imaging system built in partnership with Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Congratulations to our interns and the rest of the award winners. Excited to see what the future holds for you!
