The Armed Forces Chamber hosted a successful Community Candidate Forum attended by more than 50 community members and members of Promise Land Community Church. Four candidates participated on the panel, while approximately half a dozen candidates attended. Refreshments were served, and attendees had the opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking public office.
Special remarks were delivered by Hunter Cain, Charter Officer of the Armed Forces Chamber and Founder of the Foster Care Chamber; Joanna Farrakhan, Officer of the Armed Forces Chamber and Founder of Strength and Flight; and Patricia Marr, candidate for District Court Judge, Family Division, Department D.
During the forum, a disgruntled candidate repeatedly interrupted the question-and-answer session involving North Las Vegas Councilman Scott Black, a candidate for North Las Vegas Mayor, causing a temporary delay while order was restored. The Armed Forces Chamber appreciates the patience of attendees and participants.
The Armed Forces Chamber would also like to personally thank Joey Charafi, candidate for Nevada State Assembly District 8, for maintaining professionalism, respect, and decorum throughout the event despite the disruption.
