Certain communities in Las Vegas, such as East Las Vegas and part old North Las Vegas, appear to have been overlooked by their elected officials and politicians. What are the predominant issues affecting these areas? The concerns and challenges they face include:
1. Rising homelessness in neighborhoods, which raises concerns about family safety, children and teens that walk home from and to school. Homeless individuals are occupying walking bridges, sidewalks, and other public spaces with their tents, groceries carts, and other belongings, and engaging in illicit activities. They are congregating in groups at schools, under freeways, outside residential homes, empty houses, empty lots, abandoned businesses, and buildings. All the parks are filled with homeless individuals 24 hours a day, making it impossible for families to take their kids there.
2. Unrepaired streets and unpaved residential streets. Streets lacking proper signage, marked street lines, and inefficient traffic management, resulting in daily traffic congestion and accidents.
3. The proliferation of pop-up vendors on nearly every corner, occupying open lots in residential neighborhoods and leaving behind trash and debris.
These are only the top three .
How can we stay engaged with the communities in our state and help Nevada be great again.
CIA has provided resources, information of elected officials and emergency number to these communities but we need more engagement from other agencies , groups , politicians , elected officials ands representatives to help in these matters .
TOGETHER we can make a difference.
